Terms of sale
These terms explain how orders placed with CableHQ are handled. They distinguish consumer rights from the arrangements that apply to business customers.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
TJ Calver Holdings Ltd (company number 17222224), whose registered office is 5 The Village, Main Road, Fleggburgh, Great Yarmouth, NR29 3DL, United Kingdom, trades as CableHQ. Product advice can be requested at [email protected], quotations and sales questions can be sent to [email protected], and customer support, cancellations and returns are handled at [email protected].
2. Products and suitability
Product descriptions identify the main characteristics of the goods. Small visual differences and manufacturer changes may occur where they do not materially alter the product. Customers should check connector type, category, length, performance, compatibility and installation requirements before ordering.
Any recommendation is based on the information the customer provides. Customers should verify critical capacity, compatibility, regulatory, environmental and installation requirements against current manufacturer documentation and use a suitably qualified installer where appropriate. This does not limit a consumer's rights where CableHQ was told the particular purpose and the consumer reasonably relied on CableHQ's advice.
Custom, cut-to-length or specially sourced goods will be identified before purchase where applicable.
3. Placing an order and forming a contract
- Your order is an offer to buy the goods shown in the final checkout summary.
- An on-screen checkout status, payment authorisation or automatic order confirmation acknowledges receipt or payment only and is not acceptance.
- A contract for each item is formed when CableHQ sends its dispatch confirmation for that item, unless CableHQ sends a separate, non-automated message expressly accepting it earlier.
- Before acceptance, CableHQ may decline an order because of stock, an obvious pricing or description error, payment or delivery issues, legal requirements or fraud-prevention concerns.
If an order cannot be accepted, CableHQ will explain the position where reasonably possible. Any payment already captured for goods not accepted will be refunded promptly to the original payment method.
4. Prices, VAT and payment
Our UK VAT registration number is 520636025.
The website may display both prices excluding VAT and the corresponding price including VAT. The checkout shows the applicable goods, VAT, delivery and discounts before the order is submitted.
Prices and promotions can change before an order is placed. Obvious pricing errors may be corrected before acceptance. Payment must be authorised through an available checkout method.
5. Availability and delivery
Stock and dispatch messages are estimates until the order is accepted. Delivery is subject to the delivery policy, including address, access, carrier and delay provisions.
For eligible UK Mainland orders, next-working-day delivery is £11.94 including VAT (£9.95 excluding VAT) on an order value of £240 including VAT (£200 excluding VAT) or less and free over that value. Pre-12PM delivery is £18 including VAT (£15 excluding VAT), and pre-10:30AM delivery is £30 including VAT (£25 excluding VAT). Eligible available products ordered before 3PM on a working day are prioritised for same-day dispatch. Service names describe the intended dispatch and carrier delivery target. Unless checkout or CableHQ's acceptance expressly describes a date or time as guaranteed, it is an estimate rather than a guaranteed appointment. CableHQ will take reasonable care to meet it and will keep customers informed of material delays. These published rates and timings do not apply to pallets, cut-to-length cable, cabinets or special-order, heavy, bulky or restricted goods unless checkout expressly confirms them.
Consumer rights where delivery is late, including when an agreed delivery time was essential, are explained in the delivery policy and are not affected by a carrier or supplier investigation.
6. Consumer cancellation rights
A consumer buying online will normally have 14 days after receiving the goods to tell CableHQ that they wish to cancel. After giving notice, the consumer normally has a further 14 days to send the goods back. A clear statement sent to [email protected] is enough and does not require prior approval. The optional model cancellation form may also be used.
The consumer is responsible for the direct return cost for a change-of-mind cancellation where this was explained before purchase, unless CableHQ has agreed otherwise. CableHQ will bear reasonable return costs for faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods. Any deduction for diminished value is limited to loss caused by handling beyond what would reasonably be allowed when examining goods in a shop; opening packaging or reasonable inspection does not automatically prevent cancellation.
Cancellation rights may not apply to goods genuinely made to the consumer's specification, clearly personalised or otherwise excluded by law. A product is not excluded merely because it is specially ordered from a supplier. This does not remove rights where goods are faulty, unsafe or not as described.
7. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Goods supplied to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Consumers may have a 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods and further repair, replacement, price-reduction or final-rejection rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Please report visible transit damage, shortages or an incorrect item within 48 hours with the order number and evidence where helpful. The 48-hour request helps CableHQ investigate but does not limit statutory rights.
8. Refunds
Refunds due will normally use the original payment method. For a valid consumer cancellation, the basic outbound delivery charge will be refunded, but any extra amount paid for an enhanced delivery service need not be. CableHQ will not charge a refund fee and may wait until returned goods are received, or evidence of return is supplied, where the law permits.
Further operational details appear in the returns and refunds policy.
9. Business customers
Consumer cancellation rights do not apply to purchases made wholly or mainly for business use. Agreed quotations, trade-account terms or written project terms may override these general terms for a business order. Business customers should inspect deliveries promptly and report visible shortages or damage within 48 hours. Latent defects should be reported promptly after discovery.
An unwanted, non-faulty business return must be requested within 10 calendar days of delivery and approved in writing before dispatch. Eligible returns must be unused, complete, resaleable standard-stock goods in their original undamaged packaging and, where CableHQ must use a supplier return route, satisfy that supplier's eligibility requirements. The business customer pays return carriage and a 30% restocking charge calculated against the returned product’s CableHQ selling price excluding VAT. Opened, incomplete, special-order, non-stock or non-resaleable goods may be refused. No restocking charge applies to faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods.
CableHQ will not retrospectively add a standard delivery charge solely because a partial return leaves the value of the products retained below the £200 ex VAT free-delivery threshold.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, liability for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, breach of the terms implied by law as to title, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
If the customer is a consumer, CableHQ is responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of its breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. CableHQ is not responsible for business losses suffered by a consumer, and nothing in this section affects statutory consumer rights.
For a customer acting wholly or mainly in the course of business, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- CableHQ is not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- For direct physical loss of or damage to tangible property caused by CableHQ's negligence, CableHQ's aggregate liability for one event or series of connected events is limited to the relevant limit of indemnity stated in the liability-insurance certificate in force when the contract is made.
- For all other loss arising out of or in connection with an order, whether in contract, tort including negligence, breach of statutory duty, misrepresentation or otherwise, CableHQ's total aggregate liability is limited to 100% of the price paid or payable excluding VAT for that order.
- CableHQ is not liable to the extent that loss is caused or increased by inaccurate requirements supplied by the customer, unsuitable selection not recommended by CableHQ, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, improper storage, installation or use, or modification of the goods.
- The business customer must take reasonable steps to mitigate any loss.
These business limitations are intended to apply only where they are fair and reasonable under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. CableHQ holds public liability insurance. Evidence of current cover is available on request from [email protected], including before ordering. Insurance does not waive these terms or represent that a particular contractual, product or economic loss is insured.
11. Events outside reasonable control
Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by an event outside its reasonable control. For CableHQ this may include severe weather, fire, flood, epidemic, war, terrorism, government action, industrial disputes, widespread utility or network failure, and carrier or supplier disruption caused by such an event. This does not include a lack of reasonable commercial preparation.
CableHQ will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect, keep affected customers informed and resume performance. Consumer rights relating to delayed delivery, cancellation and refunds continue to apply. For a business order, affected obligations are suspended for the duration of the event; if it continues for more than 30 days, either party may end the affected, unperformed part of the order by written notice and CableHQ will refund any corresponding prepayment.
12. Law and general terms
These terms and each order are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections. Consumers may bring proceedings in any court available to them under applicable law. For a business customer, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
The version made available when you submit an order applies to that order, unless we expressly agree a change with you. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
Effective from 27 October 2026. Contact [email protected] with questions about this page.
